A World Gone Mad I Daily Walk Devotion

The news has gotten so crazy that it is impossible to keep up. It’s not a new issue every month or week. It is multiple issues every day. An average person would easily get overwhelmed by all of it, let alone those racked by fear. We live in a world gone mad. How do you respond as a Christian? That is the key to how you navigate all of the certainty. Don’t lose hope. You serve a God who is in complete control and has your best interests in mind. Put your trust fully in Him.

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭12:2

Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.”

A Blind Eye

Many Christians are wondering what is happening in the world. Things have gone from crazy to chaotic. The prophet Ezekiel explains why the world has gone mad by using the metaphor of a house. Imagine living in a home where the people know the right thing to do but purposely don’t do it. They see and hear what is going on but turn a blind eye and deaf ear to it. That would be a miserable house to live in, and it perfectly describes the world where we exist.

The Cure to Discouragement

How do you navigate this spiritual minefield? Satan knows that if he can use his two most effective tools, distraction, and discouragement, to get you off track, he had won ninety percent of the battle. That is where the church is today. They are distracted by the arguments of politics and issues that the media blows out of proportion and then discouraged by the fear of catching a virus that is wrecking the world. If your hope isn’t in Jesus, then you will get swept away by all of the madness. The only cure is trusting in the sovereignty of God.

A World Gone Mad

The cure to a world gone mad is by leaning on the Lord and not your understanding. It keeps your eyes on things above and praying for the strength and wisdom to avoid the traps that exist everywhere. Remember that God is in control and that He is working towards bringing His children home to be with Him for eternity. Don’t worry if the world around you is crumbling. It is all part of His plan to get you to heaven.
