God’s Chosen Instrument

God's Chosen Instrument I Daily Walk Devotion

‭We all love an underdog story. Someone, who wasn’t picked, becomes the hero through spectacular effort. God’s chosen instrument is often someone everybody else would ignore. They are passed over, but God sees the potential. God’s chosen instrument is someone who is open and willing to be used by him.

Acts‬ ‭9:15-16‬

“But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to take my name to Gentiles, kings, and Israelites. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

Unpredictable

God never goes with the predictable when choosing his servants. The ones we see as being the right pick for a job are often the last on the list. God likes to use the least likely person. Think of King David. His dad didn’t even include him in the lineup when Samuel came. Think of the disciples. They were lowly fisherman and tax collectors. Paul takes the cake though, he was on his way to persecute the Christians in Damascus, and he became God’s chosen instrument.

Mighty Through the Meek

If you don’t think you measure up or it seems like you can’t find your way, you may just be the one to be used by God. He likes to use those who others have cast off or don’t consider. He chooses to do mighty things through those who are weak and lonely. 1 Corinthians tells us that He uses the foolish to confound the wise. Don’t get discouraged. Keep your head up and seek His face. Make yourself available to the Lord. It will probably start small so don’t look down your nose at the opportunity.

The only limit to what God can do in our lives is us. If we doubt, get discouraged, or let the defeat of sin take us down we will never realize our full potential. If we will remain open, strive for holiness, and step out in courage God will open new horizons that we never thought possible.
