Ministering with an Open Mind I Daily Walk Devotion

How many times has someone told you to be open-minded? I bet it had to do with you being open to a new way of doing things or see something in a new light. Sometimes that can be, and other times, it can be harmful. Ministering with an open mind means that the Holy Spirit has transformed it and we see Scripture in a new light. It becomes alive and powerful to us.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:45

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.”

Fulfilling Scripture

Right before Jesus ascended to Heaven, he opened the mind of his disciples. He didn’t do this to make them more tolerant or inclusive but to understand scriptures. The interesting thing to note here is that when Jesus did this, there wasn’t one written word of the New Testament yet. He wanted them to understand how He came and fulfilled everything that Moses and the prophets had written. He was the true Messiah that came to offer forgiveness of sins. Jesus knew that they needed their mind opened up to minister effectively.

Through the Eyes of Faith

I want you to understand that the world doesn’t see Scripture the way that believers do. They look at it logically, and it doesn’t add up. Believers look at it spiritually and see the mighty hand of God working throughout history. Our understanding comes through the saving work of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our eyes are opened to the Word of God through faith. Don’t look at Scripture through the eyes of the world, see it through the eyes of faith.

Ministering with an Open Mind

Ministering with an open mind necessitates that we understand the Scriptures. It helps us to love others like Jesus does and to see them in the light that he sees them. This understanding has to be more than head knowledge. It has to be Spirit-led and guided. This is something every believer can have simply by praying for it. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Word to you and give you supernatural understanding.
