Seek Wisdom Above Everything Else I Daily Walk Devotion

One of the rarest traits in the world today is someone who possesses wisdom. Few people think before they speak. Opinion is valued more than facts. Even someone who exhibits common sense is often ridiculed for being judgmental. Seek wisdom above everything else.

‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭1:10‬

Now grant me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people, for who can judge this great people of yours?”

Granted One Request

Solomon was given any wish he wanted from God. He could’ve asked for power and ruled over all the nations. He could’ve asked for fortune and had more money than any known man. Instead, Solomon asked for wisdom. That’s pretty impressive for a young man who hasn’t been a leader, and his father has just passed away. God gave him understanding, and Solomon is known as the wisest man who ever lived. We benefit from his wisdom today through the book of Proverbs.

Reap the Benefits

The person who seeks wisdom over everything else will prosper. It may not come in a financial windfall, but in acquiring and applying wisdom to your life, you will reap the benefits. The fool (a person who rejects wisdom) is always in trouble in some area of his life. The wise person avoids the pitfalls of foolishness and spares himself the agony of its consequences. The path of life is smoother for those who use wisdom. When we gain understanding other people seek us out.

Seek Wisdom Above Everything Else

Seek wisdom above everything else. It starts by growing in your knowledge of God’s Word. When you know what to do and what not to do, it informs your decisions. Ask the Lord for wisdom, and he will give you twice as much as you wanted. Finally, you also acquire understanding from those who are farther down the path of life. Seeking counsel from those who apply wisdom to their lives is one of the best habits you can learn. Start by reading a chapter of Proverbs a day for the next month, ask the Lord to give you wisdom, and surround yourself with wise people.
