True love is life changing. There is nothing that compares to it. It fills our heart and can’t to burst out and express itself to God or other people. This love is something that can only be found in Christ. You can’t manufacture it or fake it. It is like a muscle, the more you use it, the more it grows and flourishes.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
More than Romance
If you want a definition of what true love go no farther than this passage. Many couples have stood face to face with each other and recited these as their vows. There is no better description of love in the Bible, yet this isn’t just romantic love. This is Agape love. It’s the purest form of love that exists, and it is the love the God shows towards us.
Love Bears All Things
Who doesn’t want to be loved with patience and kindness? Love that is arrogant or selfish is a turn off to everyone. True love is patient and kind, selfless, it loves the truth, and bears all things. Every human yearns for this kind of love and all of us fall short of giving it. It is impossible to love people like this unless Jesus produces it in you. True love is the fruit of the Holy Spirit working in you. It is something that grows over time. It is something we should be praying for on a daily basis.
