Wait On the Lord I Daily Walk Devotion

Maybe some of you are like me? You don’t do very well when you have to wait beyond what you think is normal. If patience is one of your strong suits, then this devotional might not be for you but for the rest of you, take heart in what the Psalmist says, “Wait on the Lord.

‭‭PSALMS‬ ‭130:5

“I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.”

Do You Struggle with Patience?

The Psalmist expresses something that all of us wishes was true, being more patient. He says that he waits upon the Lord and puts an exclamation point on it by saying that it comes from the depth of his soul. Now, before you tune out, understand that this writer is writing from a place of desperation. He can’t do anything else except wait. He is in deep pain and runs out of options, and the Lord is the only place to turn.

Are You Losing Hope?

Have you gotten to the point where all you can do is wait on the Lord? You may have tried every avenue to get relief or find the answer, but you are left with the only option, waiting on Him. Don’t lose hope. Jesus has your best interests in mind, and you having to wait means that the best option for your situation is in the future. The bonus is that you get to grow in your faith in the process.

Wait On the Lord

Put your hope in God’s Word. Immerse yourself in the Scripture and find your solace there. King David was anointed as a king as a teenager and didn’t take over the throne until he was thirty. The rest of the time, he was waiting on the Lord and running from Saul. He trusted in the Lord and wanted God to teach him His ways. Ask God to give you the same heart. Next time you are getting impatient, ask the Lord to teach you His ways.
