Imagine having more than you can possibly need. It doesn’t matter whether it be money, food, or friends. Everywhere you look you have more than you know what to do with. You have so much that you start to give it away. That is what God’s abounding grace is like. His grace is in such great supply that it overwhelms us at times.
Romans 5:20-21
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
His Grace is Sufficient
God’s grace was always part of God’s plan. His grace is sufficient to handle everything. He was gracious to Adam and Eve in the garden. He was gracious to the tribe of Israel in the wilderness. He gave his law to Moses not to replace his grace but to show our need for his grace. The law made man’s sin increase but here is the incredible thing, God’s grace abounded more than our sin.
Covers a Multitude of Sins
Man’s sin leads to death. It separates us from God and brings guilt and shame. All of this was the fallout of the first sin. We deal with the effects of it every day. Much of the struggle we have every day is not temptation, but dealing with the fallout of our choices. The only thing that can change that is God’s abounding grace. It covers a multitude of sins.
One Righteous Act
One righteous act by one perfect person changed everything. Jesus’ death on the cross took all of our condemnation and covered it with his grace. It is a gift from Jesus that made that happen. We don’t have to live under the shadow of guilt anymore. We can be released from the shame of our past. This is all made possible through His abounding grace. Receive it today.
