It’s a new day, a new year, a new decade! Time to reflect on where you’ve come from and where you want to go. What is God impressing upon your heart today? Is He challenging you to make some changes? Is he opening new opportunities? If so, take that step and watch Him do a new work in your heart. It’s a new day. See what God has for you.
2 Peter 3:8
“Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.”
Out with the Old
Today is the start of a new year and a new decade. We are shedding the old year and beginning fresh with new hopes and aspirations. Peter has some great advice for us when it comes to time. God looks at time differently. One day can be like a thousand years, and a thousand years can be like a day. No need to go into the explanation that God is outside of time, but it is essential to understand that God operates on His own schedule. He accomplishes His will when He thinks it is best.
Time for a Fresh Start
New beginnings and fresh starts are important in everyone’s life. Dates like the start of a new year, a milestone birthday, or even it being a Monday are great starting blocks to begin something new in your life. God wants to start something new in your life today! He wants to see you repent of your sin, grow in your spiritual maturity, and step out in faith, and He is patient with you to see it happen. Don’t wait any longer, start today.
It’s a New Day
God is also very patient with you. If you get motivated to start something and then stop doing it after a few days, He is not going to give up on you. Through the Holy Spirit, He is going to gently nudge you back in the right direction. If you’ve fallen off of the proverbial wagon, don’t lose hope. Stand back up and keep going because God is right there with you.
