This Too Shall Pass I Daily Walk Devotion

With the Coronavirus wreaking havoc in the world, there is a lot of people expressing their opinions online. You have those panicking and purchasing toilet paper in bulk and those mocking those people. My advice to you is to remember that this too shall pass. In a couple of months, this will be an afterthought in the minds of everyone around you. As a Believer, we also need to understand that one day this world will pass and we will be with Jesus.

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”

Heed the Prophecy

John’s prophecy in the book of Revelation gives us a great picture of what is coming. What a timely word for what we are encountering today. Where I live, we are on the brink complete shutdown and quarantine, and it’s easy to get caught up in the feeling like the world is falling apart. As a believer in Jesus Christ, we know that one day it is all going to change. The earth as we know it is going to pass away and a new heaven and new earth will appear. There will be no need for a sun because the Son of God will be on the throne, being the Light of the World.

Days are Getting Closer

The days are getting closer to when this is going to happen. Jesus called them “birth pains.” One day soon, Jesus is going to come back for His church, and the Tribulation will start. If you follow Jesus, you are looking forward to this day. We will be reunited with Christ in the clouds (1 Thess 4:17) and will be with Him for eternity. That is where we need to put our hope during this crisis. If everything does collapse, it is only going to get better for us. In the meantime, put your trust in Him.

This Too Shall Pass

What can we do while the world is in crisis? First off, we need to pray. Jesus tells us to cast all of our cares upon Him. It has a powerful effect on those who do. Secondly, we need to be open to Gospel conversations with people God brings us. I’ve had several conversations with people during the last few days as people try to make sense of this crisis. People want answers, and we need to give them the ultimate solution, and that is Jesus Christ.
