Finding someone full of life is getting to be a challenge. It seems the stress of the world is weighing everyone down. Everyone is being tossed back and forth by the waves of events that have gripped our world. Jesus never intended for us to live lives of apprehension. He desires that we are full of life and growing closer to Him.
John 11:25
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,”
Rise Again
When Lazarus died, Jesus was questioned for why he lingered so long before coming to heal him. Lazarus died during that time, and Martha came up to Jesus and said, “If you would’ve been here, Lazarus would not have died.” Jesus replied, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection.” This is when Jesus tells her “I am the resurrection and the life.” This was a critical dialogue between Martha and Jesus. It showed Jesus had power over death and that life could be found in Him.
Source of Contentment
There are a lot of things that people try to find life in. It could be a job, relationship, or adventure but all of those are short-lived. Somebody once asked a pastor’s wife if her husband made her happy? She replied, “No, I learned a long time ago that was too much to put on my husband, and only Jesus can make me happy.” You will only find redemption from your sins and contentment when you put your trust in Jesus. Everything else will leave you disappointed.
Full of Life
Are you full of life? Is joy evident in your attitude, or do you look for the negative? When Jesus comes into your life, there should be a transformation. Not only is your sin removed, but it should be replaced with the love of Jesus Christ, and joy should start to percolate out of your heart. If those are evident, then something is not right. You need to determine what is stopping that life from being evident in your heart. Ask the Lord today what is preventing you from being full of life.
