The Bible reminds us over and over that we can start fresh today. We don’t need to reach a certain level, jump through any hoops, Jesus allows us to start over. Sometimes we just need a fresh start. That is available to us, and God’s mercy is there it get it jump-started. Start fresh with Jesus today.
Lamentations 3:22-24
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Unending Mercy
Jeremiah, known as the weeping prophet, wrote this. The prophet who endured more than any other prophet penned some significant words when it comes to God’s love. Jeremiah knew that the supply of God’s love was unending and you can’t turn it off. It is so immense that we can’t comprehend it’s size. Add to that, the mercy of the Lord can’t be exhausted. Mercy is withholding judgment from us, or not giving us what we deserve. That supply renews every morning. Every day we wake up we start fresh and clean with His mercy.
Steadfast Love
That combination of love and mercy helps us understand how faithful God is. If His love is unending and His mercy doesn’t cease his faithfulness is unshakeable. The Lord is all we need so we can put all of our hope and trust in Him. We can go to Him in our time of need, and He comes to us when we can’t come to Him. Start fresh today with the love of the Lord. No matter where you are at spiritually you can partake of it. It doesn’t matter where you are at right now. Go to the Lord and rest in His love and mercy.
