If we will sow a lifestyle of worship we will reap a lifetime of favor. Singing and praising the Lord directs our heart towards heaven. It takes our focus off of ourselves and places it firmly on him. This fills our heart with joy and makes the seasons of pain more bearable.
Psalms 30:4-5
“Sing to the Lord, you his faithful ones, and praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor, a lifetime. Weeping may stay overnight, but there is joy in the morning.”
A Free Gift
If we are a follower of Jesus Christ we are guaranteed His favor for the rest of our lives. This comes free of charge and it is given to us before we can do anything for God. That’s right His favor isn’t based on anything you have done, it comes directly from His love for us. We can wake up with joy every morning knowing that His favor is there waiting for us, no matter what is happening at that moment. So get up and praise him. Sing and shout to the Lord because of all he has done for you. No one can take that from you and no weapon the enemy points at you can possibly be successful.
Walk in Joy
Tough times are going to come, it’s one of the few certainties of life. How we let them affect us is the is the real issue. We may even make the Lord angry by our actions but take heart that is only temporary. Weeping may last for a little while but His love and favor will always be there. Endure the discipline and chastening of the Lord, learn your lessons from it, and walk in the joy of the Lord.
