Jesus fills us full of courage when we step out in faith. He often doesn’t give us the courage before but as we take that first step. We don’t have to fear the unknown because we know that God is with us as we go. God will always do right by us. Trust him and ask him to fill you full of courage.
2 Samuel 10:12
“Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do what is good in His sight.”
Overcome Fear
Courage is in short supply today. Fear grips most people when they look at things that can do us harm. Parents become overprotective out of the fear of something terrible happening to their child, People stress over how they are going to pay their bills, and we worry about catching a cold or contracting a disease. These can all paralyze us from doing what God wants us to do. Fear is one of Satan’s biggest tools in his arsenal.
Full of Courage
Take hope in today’s scripture; “Be of good courage.” Courage is putting our hope in Jesus Christ and mustering the strength to step forward. There are people in our lives who need us to be strong and courageous. They need us to lead the way and set the example. Don’t feel like you can muster that kind of courage? It’s only a prayer away. Paul tells us that Jesus didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a strong mind. Our strength doesn’t come from within; it comes from Him. Go to him today and ask for the courage to go forward, then trust Him as you do. God has your best interests in mind. Don’t be sidelined by your fear of what might happen and miss out on what God can do.
