Were you ever picked last for a playground game? Ever been left out of an activity your friends were doing? We all know the pain of not being chosen or wanted. It can be a wound that takes a while to heal. That is not the case with Jesus. God chose you before the foundation of the world. He chose to pour out His love on you, and all he asks is that we strive to live a holy life.
Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him.”
Created with You in Mind
God created the world and all of its inhabitants so that He could have an outlet to show His immense love. As He was going through the six days of creation, He did it with the thought of having a perfect relationship between Him and us. We are the receptacles of all that God has because he created everything with us in mind. Unfortunately, sin ruined that perfect union, and we live with less than what was intended.

What does God require of us? He wants us to live holy and blameless in love. Holiness doesn’t mean perfection. It means living in obedience to God in a way that gives Him glory. There is also an aspect where we desire to live that way so to please Him, part of that includes being blameless. No one should be able to bring a charge of wrongdoing against us. Finally, we need to do all of this in an attitude of love.
Be Content
Maybe you are reading this, and it doesn’t overcome your feeling of loneliness. I am not trying to diminish what you are struggling with, but until you are content with God choosing you and the love that comes with that, you will never be happy with the love of others. He understands what you are going through, and more than anything else wants to help. Let Him be everything you need.
