Are you a person who is always on time or always late? There doesn’t seem to be another category people fall into. Timing is everything for those who are on time. When the schedule gets out of whack these people lose their minds. Trusting God’s timing can challenge those who like a plan to work out. God doesn’t abide by your schedule or time frame because He knows what is best for you.
Acts 3:6
“But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!””
A Changed Man
Peter was a changed man after Pentecost and the filling of the Holy Spirit. He was able to preach the Gospel to thousands and discern when the Spirit wanted to work through him. Quite a contrast from the Peter we knew in the Gospels. You can see flashes of potential, but his mouth always got in the way. Now we see him being used by the Spirit to heal this man who had been lame his whole life. He was a well-known beggar who made his place at the gate every day to beg for money. Peter gives him something better, his physical health.
Be Patient
Never give up on the timing of the Lord. He was patient with Peter, and God used him to build His church. God’s timing was also important in the lame man’s healing. Jesus came to Jerusalem three times during his ministry, and no doubt saw this man begging but chose not to heal him. Instead, He allowed him to be healed through Peter. We can be guilty of wanting God to do something right now and get impatient when it doesn’t happen. God may intend to work but knows that a later time is better.
Trusting God’s Timing
It doesn’t take money or influence to be used by God. Some of the greatest miracles we will hear about in Heaven will never be recorded by a video or book. It was done by a humble servant who was open to God working through them. You may have a messed past and think God can’t use you. Look to Peter and the lame man.
