Brides spend a lot of time and money getting ready for their special day. They want every detail to be perfect because it is going to be a celebration with loved ones. There is a lot of stress leading up to it, but in the end, it is all worth it. Did you know that the church is the Bride of Christ and that there will be a wedding? Are you making yourself ready for that day?
Revelation 19:7
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
A Grand Celebration
There will be a grand celebration when Jesus is finally wed to His Bride, the church. It’s is described as a marriage celebration with a great feast. As believers in Jesus, we should be looking forward to this day, and it should fill our hearts with hope and joy. Jesus has already won the battle on the cross, and nothing can take away our salvation, so in the meantime, we are making ourselves ready for that day. That is the mindset every believer should have.
Slightly Blemished
No one would argue that the church today isn’t an attractive bride, and no amount of makeup or lighting will improve it. The church has been invaded with worldliness in that it cares more about what the world thinks of it instead of what God thinks. The list of blemishes is long and embarrassing, but it will be transformed in the blink of an eye, and the old will be traded for the new.
Are You Making Yourself Ready
One day we will be in eternity with Jesus, and what a glorious day that will be. Until then, we need to live for Him with everything we got. We can’t rest on our laurels, trusting that God will transform us. We will stand before Jesus and give an account of how we used the talents He has given us. Are you ready for that day? If not, get right with Jesus and let Him clean you up.
