Brought Into the Light I Daily Walk Devotion

Nothing is hidden forever. Eventually, everything will be brought into the light. Jesus spoke to this principle as he was sharing multiple parables. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. That light is meant to shine forth and illuminate the room. The same goes for sin being revealed. We may think it is hidden from sight, but eventually, it will be exposed.

Mark 4:21-22

Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.

Seeing Through the Smoke Screen

Have you ever seen someone do something that no one else saw? You tried to let people know but the person hid behind their reputation, and no one believed you? This scripture should give you some comfort. While no one may find out at first, we don’t have to worry, because eventually, it will be brought into the light. Some people are just really good covering their tracks and throwing up smoke screens to distract people. Even though they may fool some people God is watching the whole time and He will deal with it in His time.

Come Clean

The same goes for us. God reveals the sin in our hearts. He wants us to come clean and get right with him. There may be some hidden sin that he is trying to root out of our life, but in our embarrassment, we are afraid to come clean. If we don’t deal with it, it will cause problems down the line. Unrepentant sin builds a wall of hostility between God and us. Soon that sin spills out into other areas of our life, and the sin is revealed. Left undealt with; it will destroy our lives. Pray that God will show you the sin in your life. Then go to your knees and ask for forgiveness.
