Do you ever get confused by all of the diet fads and information out there? Don’t eat carbs, fast sixteen hours a day, eat only clean foods, keto is the only way to go. It can make your head spin trying to figure out. Jesus tells us to feed what is important, our spirit. That is where our life comes from. The flesh profits nothing.
JOHN 6:63
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”
Be Honest
If you are honest with yourself, you will admit that you spend more time and resources on your flesh than what you spend on your spirit. The flesh profits you nothing, but in your spirit is life. Jesus spoke to your spirit to breathe in new life. It is essential to spend time each day strengthening what will benefit you the most. Neglect it, and it will start to impact every other area of your life.
Take Care of Your Spirit
1 Timothy 4:7 says to train our bodies for godliness. While physical training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way. There is some benefit to working out and taking care of yourself, but it pales compared to taking care of your spirit. Feed it the good stuff, the Word of God. Exercise it by walking in faith. Invest it by pouring into the lives of others.
Feed What is Important
The world will tell you that you have to love yourself before you can love others. That is a lie that Satan wants you to believe. Jesus said, “Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Him.” Two messages that are opposite from each other. If you feel like life has gone out of you, pray to the Holy Spirit to bring it back. Feed your spirit daily and surround yourself with like-minded people. When your spirit is better fed than your flesh, you will feel more in sync with Jesus.
