Jesus Carries Your Sorrows I Daily Walk Devotion

.When you are struggling, you can have others come alongside you and support you, but they can’t carry your sorrows. Loved ones can surround you, but they can’t feel the pain of your disease. While their love and support make the sorrow easier, it is yours to carry alone. When it comes to your sin, Jesus carries your sorrows. He pays the debt and takes the punishment.

Isaiah 53:4, 5

“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.” “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Jesus Carries Your Sorrows

No other place in all of Scripture gives you a more graphic picture of the sacrifice that Jesus paid. Isaiah 53 is one of the most important chapters for the foundation of your faith. If Jesus didn’t suffer like this, then the wrath of God would not have subsided. Jesus bore your grief, carried your sorrows, was wounded for your sin, and His stripes healed you. All done out of His abounding love and grace for you.

Right With God

Not only did Jesus bear all of our sins, but He also bore all our griefs and sorrows. Think about this for a second. He takes all your pain and misery on top of your sins. He was wounded and bruised so that we could be right with God. It pleased God to do this. His love for us is so vast that He willingly gave up His only Son so we can be saved from an eternity of anguish and reunited in a right relationship with Him. This should encourage you and get your week started right. He takes everything from us and replaces it with His peace.

For Everyone

Maybe you are sitting here reading this and thinking, “He didn’t do this for me.” You’re mistaken. He laid his life down for everyone, and our grief and sorrows are carried away. He heals us, and we are now right in God’s eyes. Take the step today to be made right by God. Ask for forgiveness of your sins and for Jesus to enter your life and transform you.
