Looking for the Lost I Daily Walk Devotion

There is a funny video floating around on social media with the voice of a comedian talking about how his wife is perfect, never does anything wrong, but can never find her phone. It’s funny because it’s spot on. People looking for their lost cell phone or asking people to call it is a commonplace today. Jesus came to earth looking for the lost. He wanted to share the Gospel with them so that they could be saved.

‭‭LUKE‬ ‭19:10‬

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

He’s Searching for You

Do you realize that Jesus actively seeks you when you are lost and headed towards hell? People don’t look for Jesus; He looks for you. Let that marinate for a second. What other god or religion has the leader looking for their followers? Most require the follower to go on a pilgrimage and inflict great harm on themselves to find what they are looking for. Jesus was in heaven, but came to earth, suffered on the cross, and was resurrected to find you. You do very little work in the salvation process.

Jesus Doesn’t Leave You

Once Jesus has found you, He doesn’t leave you. Instead, He walks with you on the journey to heaven. You are given everything you need for the journey. The Spirit empowers you to live for Jesus, the Word of God is a light to your path, and the church is the group you travel with. Who could ask for more? There is nothing you need to be successful in your relationship with Jesus.

Looking for the Lost

Jesus still seeks the lost. He is working in the heart of your loved one who hasn’t given their life to Him. Be a positive part of the process. Pray for them, don’t judge. Invite them to your church and encourage them to look to Jesus with life throws them a curveball. As the old saying goes, “You get a lot more flies with honey and than vinegar.” Be thankful Jesus is looking for the lost.
