Every politician scrambles for specific endorsements from essential organizations and businesses. Some want the local labor unions and newspapers to support their campaign, while others look to law enforcement and the Chamber of Commerce for theirs. Jesus knew the heart of man, and there was no endorsement needed from anyone. He got His instructions from the Lord.
JOHN 2:24-25
But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men, and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.”
Keep Your Wits
Jesus kept His wits about him when His popularity was at its highest. People not only clamored for His healing touch, but they wanted to be associated with His ministry. They were clamoring for His coattails, and Jesus was having none of it. He knew the heart of man, and the was no endorsement needed from them. He didn’t entrust Himself to them or rely on their testimonies.
Praise is Fleeting
Jesus wasn’t being cold-hearted and treating people poorly. He knew that man’s heart was fickle, and one day they were shouting His praises, and the next they were yelling “Crucify Him!” This is an essential lesson for all of us to learn. The praise of man is fleeing, and our trust should be in the Lord. If we look for the approval of others, it will end up backfiring.
No Endorsement Needed
Live your life with a “no endorsement needed” mentality. Find your joy and peace in the Lord, and take what others say about you with a grain of salt. If it’s true, make the necessary changes, but if it isn’t, then let it run off of you like water on a duck’s back. Always remember that man’s heart is fickle, and you don’t need their approval.
