Rejoice in Your Heart I Daily Walk Devotion

During my time in Malawi, one of the highlights was listening to the worship of the people. They love to worship the Lord. You can listen to a little bit of it here. There is power in lifting our voices in praise to our heavenly Father. Rejoice in your heart today. Christ has made you a new creation.

‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16:9-10

Sing to Him; sing praise to Him; tell about all His wondrous works! Honor His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Rightful Place

King David is known for his talent in writing songs expressing his adoration to God. These verses are a response to the Ark being placed in the tent in Jerusalem. It had been at Obed-Edom’s house, and David brought it back to its rightful place. He is urging his people to sing praises to the Lord, to express their gratefulness for all of the wondrous works He has done for them.

Honor His Name

We get the privilege of honoring His holy name. That means we sing His praises, glorify Him through our actions, and exalt Him in the world. When we fully understand all that He has done for us, it is the least we can do. It should overflow out of our hearts and cascade off our tongue. Instead of focusing on all of the things going wrong in our lives, we should reflect on what God has done for me.

Rejoice in Your Heart

Rejoice in your heart. Sometimes we need to force ourselves to be grateful for all of the blessings God has bestowed upon you. Don’t let your current circumstances dictate your feelings. You have been rescued from death (Rom 6:23), you have been showered with grace, and your eternal destiny is set. That alone should produce praise on your lips. If you are going through a tough time, start singing a praise song to the Lord. You will be amazed at how it will lift your spirit.
