Seeing the Light I Daily Walk Devotion

Seeing the Light

Seeing the Light. From time to time in life we experience a “Come to Jesus” moment. It is a huge wake-up call where God is trying to get our attention or make some significant change. Either way, Jesus is trying to get us seeing the light. At that moment we have two choices; allow God to do his work, or stiffen our neck in stubbornness and reject it. Open your eyes and see the light.

Acts 9:3-4

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

God’s Infinite Patience

Paul had one of those “Come to Jesus” moments. He was on his way to Damascus, with letters from the leaders in Jerusalem, to persecute the Christians. He had already thrown some into jail and stood over the death of Stephen, nodding in approval. God could’ve easily judged him and took him out. Instead, in his infinite patience, Jesus gave him another chance. Paul saw the light and the world was forever changed.

Why is God Trying to Get Your Attention?

We may go through seasons where there is nothing but turmoil in our lives. We have to ask ourselves why is God trying to get my attention and what is he trying to get a hold of in my life? Is our heart far from Him? Is there a sin that needs to be confessed? Maybe there is some reconciliation that needs to happen? Whatever it is we need to seek God for the resolution. When it is resolved, it will usher in a season of peace and strengthening. You can’t rush this work, but you can humbly be obedient waiting for the work to be done.
