Speak the Truth

Speak the Truth I Daily Walk Devotion

It’s getting harder to tell what is true or not. If you listen to the news, you are bombarded, not with the facts, but with opinion. Reading something on the internet does not make it accurate. Anyone can say anything they want with little censorship. Unfortunately, the same can be said for the church. A lot of what comes out of the pulpit is pop psychology and not the truth of Scripture. You need to sift through all of that to find a minister who will speak the truth.

‭‭John‬ ‭3:34‬

“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.”

Burning in the Bones

You will know a minister is sent from God if they do one thing, they speak the Word of God. The prophet Jeremiah tells us that when God sends someone to speak the Word of God, there is a burning in their bones to preach the Word. This separates those who speak in front of people because they are gifted or want to be applauded. When God anoints someone to speak, He gives them the Spirit without measure. That means the Spirit is overflowing in them, and there is no end.

Beware of False Prophets

There were many false prophecies in 2020 by people who claim to be prophets, but their prophecies didn’t come true. I know in the United States a lot of prophets prophesied that Donald Trump would win the election, and you can tell by the news that didn’t happen. The Bible is clear that if a prophet gets even one prophecy wrong, they are a false prophet. It would be best if you stayed away from them. They lead churches astray and leave people confused.

Speak the Truth

How do you know if a minister is sent from God? What they say lines up with the Word of God. Be like the Bereans when they heard Paul spoke in the Synagogue. They went home and searched the scriptures. If the speaker contradicts the Word, they are not from God, but if what they say lines up with Scripture, they are. It is going to be harder to discern what is true in the coming days. Fill your heart and mind with the Word of God so you can spot the counterfeits.
