Heart of Thanksgiving
What people eat for their diet can be a controversial thing. People are zealous about what they eat. Paul is telling Timothy that what we eat isn’t important but our attitude with how we receive the food is. We need to have a grateful heart full of thanksgiving. God has blessed us with nourishment, and we need to recognize it. When we are dissatisfied, it can be an insult both to God and to the one who has prepared it.
Too many dinners have been ruined by people who refuse to eat what is put in front of them. Hosts have been offended and hurt because of someone on a crazy fad diet or so particular about what they dislike voiced their disapproval. This is a horrible witness for a Christian. No one deserves to listen to your opinions or excuses on why you won’t eat, and no one should be forced to cater to your whims.
Stop Being So Picky
We need to stop being so picky. I know this post is tough, but it needs to be said. There is a severe lack of thanksgiving in believers today. We need to be grateful for what God has given to us. This will only happen if we put our opinions aside. Everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected. Receive it with thanksgiving.
