It’s an election year in the United States. The date we vote doesn’t happen until November, but it is already at the unbearable level. The lack of exhibited by those running and by the media is mind-boggling. True leaders speak wisdom. Solomon is the example we look to. He was so wise the leaders of the world sought to be around him.
2 Chronicles 9:23
All the kings of the world wanted an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.”
True Leaders Seek Wisdom
Solomon is known as the wisest man that ever lived. 2 Chronicles tells us that kings of the world sought him out to hear his wisdom. They wanted to know what God had put on his heart. That’s the key to it all. It wasn’t Solomon’s experience or insight they sought. These kings wanted to hear God’s wisdom. When God speaks, true leaders seek wisdom. Dictators and Narcissists want to hear themselves talk and have others tell them what they want to hear.
God Gives Wisdom Generously
Wisdom is one of the few things in the Bible, where God will give us more than we ask for (James 1:5). It is something that all of us should seek, but especially leaders. Surround yourself with wise people. How do you know if they are wise? James 3:17 tells us that wise people are full of peace, gentle, open to reason, and more. Age doesn’t guarantee wisdom; neither does education. Wisdom is from above and transcends popular opinion.
True Leader Speak Wisdom
Whether you lead others or not wisdom is necessary for everyone. If we don’t get it we are bound to repeat the same mistakes over and over. Wisdom allows us to make gradual strides in our maturity and seen the benefits that come from that. Wisdom is formed in the crockpot of life, not the microwave. When we start to gather wisdom you too will find others seeking you out.
