Teamwork is emphasized everywhere you go. At your job, your boss tells you to work together. The coach of your team highlights that cooperation was what brought them to victory. Even as a young child we are told to get along and share with each other. All of those examples show us that two are better than one. If we can’t work with others, we will have a difficult and lonely existence.
Ecclesiastes 4:9
“Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts.”
Look Out for Others
Several times in the Bible we are encouraged to work together. Solomon tells us that two are better than one. There were a lot of individuals who were only looking out for themselves. We are much more productive working with another person than by ourselves. Some will argue this, but those instances are the exception and not the norm if we want to see our work completed on time and still profitable we need to learn how to work together.
Enjoy the Benefits
There are numerous benefits to working with others. Two are better than one because the reward is more significant. Two people harvesting grapes will do it much faster than one person, two building a house will increase their profit because of how quickly it is done. There are other rewards as well. Companionship while working can be worth more than any monetary compensation. Having someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of will pay dividends.
Two are better than one
Besides the rewards, there are also other benefits. When we work with others is produces unity. Lone rangers always isolate themselves and the group. When we agree to work together, it binds us together and creates a stronger relationship. Don’t be afraid to work with other people. I know people can be annoying but rise above that and see them for who God created them to be.
