Have you ever done something dramatic to show your love to someone? Maybe you proposed to your spouse in a romantic setting. Perhaps you went to great expense to help out a family member. Whatever it was you wanted to show them how much you loved them. Did you know that God showed his unconditional love for us? While the world was lost in sin, he sent his only son to die for us.
Romans 5:8
“But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Bridging the Gap
God doesn’t have to prove his love for us, but he still does by sending his son to die for us. This extreme act of love shows how much he wants to be reunited with us and how damaging sin is to our relationship with him. God is holy first and foremost. That holiness cannot coexist with our sin. There had to be something sacrificed to bridge the gap between the two. Jesus is the only thing that would meet that standard.

Unconditonal Love
God is reaching out to you today. Stop trying to dig yourself out of a hole. Let the love of Jesus rescue you. This is a gift that we don’t have to do anything to receive. Remember we don’t have to prove our love for God, he is the one who has demonstrated his love for you.
