Did you know that in 2017, there were 67.5 million prescriptions given out by Doctors for antidepressants? It’s growing every year. This shows you that people are struggling to deal with depression and fear. Fear and discouragement are two of Satan’s biggest weapons to paralyze believers from living their faith. God didn’t intend it to be this way. He gives us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind to overcome it.
2 Timothy 1:7

Seeds of Doubt
Paul is encouraging a young pastor by the name of Timothy. He is shepherding the church in Ephesus and struggling with some of the people who are older looking down on him because of his age. This has sent Timothy into a funk, and Paul is writing to get him out of it. Paul reminds him that what God has put into him is stronger than anything Satan can come at him. Instead, Timothy should stand in boldness and use the gift God has given him.
Equipped with Gifts
Don’t let fear paralyze you. God has put HIs Holy Spirit in you and equipped you with gifts to be used for HIs glory. Don’t worry about what someone is saying. Instead, walk through the doors, God is opening for you. Satan knows if he can sow a seed of doubt in your heart, he can immobilize you from fulfilling what God has for you.
A Spirit of Power, Love, and a Sound Mind
You have been given a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. That means we can overcome any fear or depression. You won’t find it in yourself; you can only receive it from God. Step into that spirit by asking God to fill you with His Spirit. Then allow the Spirit to do the necessary work to clean house. Follow His leading in getting rid of those things which bring you down. Finally, step out in faith when God brings the opportunity. You will find that this will bring you the freedom you’ve never known.
