Full Access I Daily Walk Devotion

Have you ever been given a pass to an event like a concert that has given you full access? There is a special feeling knowing you have that. You may not even go to all the places you are allowed, but you can. We were given full access to God once Christ died on the cross. We don’t need any middlemen we can go straight to him in prayer.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:44-45

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three, because the sun’s light failed. The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle.”

Middle Man

The curtain in the temple that surrounded the tabernacle was impressive looking. It was blue and stretched from the floor to the ceiling, and it was one complete piece that circled the whole area. The high priest would go in once a year to make atonement for the people, and they would tie a rope around his ankle to pull him out just in case God struck him dead. When the curtain tore because of Jesus’ death, it symbolized that debt of sin had been paid, and full access was now available to everyone.

Access Granted

When you think about it, what god allows his people to come directly to him? Most of the time, some mediators go on your behalf, or you must travel on a long journey to find him. God wants his people to have full access to Him, but it wasn’t possible without the redemptive work of Jesus. With the price of sin being paid by his life now, we can be forgiven and be worthy to come before Him. God beckons us to come to Him. James tells us that if we draw closer to Him, He will draw closer to us.
