Are you the type of person that goes above beyond the call of duty? Do you take pride in doing a good job and get personal satisfaction when it turns out better than you expected? Did you know that God is wanting to go above and beyond what is currently happening in your life? This may not mean more money but more of His presence and more evidence of Him working. Seek that in your life.
Ephesians 3:20
“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us —”
Don’t Shortchange God
Too many time we shortchange God and what He is capable and willing to do in our lives. Paul tells us that Jesus is able to do above and beyond that, we ask OR think! This tells us that we can’t comprehend what God is capable of doing, and it shows us that we don’t ask or expect Him. Expand your mind and watch as God does something amazing.
More than We Think
This isn’t a pass to expect God to anything we wish. I’ve seen ministers tell people to dictate or demand to God what they wanted. This is not what this verse means. What Paul is telling us is that God can go above and beyond what we can possibly imagine. If He is leading us to do something, it means that He is wanting to do more than we think. We need to open our minds to all the possibilities.
Expect Big Things
If you are asking God to do something you can accomplish over time or with enough money, you are undershooting what He wants to do. If your dreams aren’t out of your reach, then they are too small. Through the Holy Spirit working through us, we can witness God doing something above and beyond what we can possibly imagine. Don’t shortchange Him today. Expect big things and then pray for God to make them a reality,
