People would pay big money if someone could show them the path to happiness. Many have promised, but all have failed except one, Jesus Christ. He promises abundant life for those who follow Him and warns against a thief who wants to steal that happiness. It’s up to you to choose the life you want.
JOHN 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
Be On Your Guard
A disciple of Jesus Christ needs to be alert and on their guard because they have a target on their back. There is an enemy which Jesus refers to as a thief. He wants to steal the joy you have, kill any life you have in Christ, and destroy your hope. The Apostle Paul tells you in Ephesians 6 to Stand Firm in your faith. Don’t give up any ground to this enemy. Any foothold of doubt or discouragement can trip you up.
Don’t Give Up
Too many Christians have given up before they even get started. They receive the promises of God and see hope in their future, only to give up when the first trial or disappointment surfaces. The path of life is littered with dashed hopes and defeated saints. Instead of finding what they need in Jesus, they have given up and wallowed in their pity. Jesus has so much more for those who remain with Him.
Choose the Life You Want
Jesus promises abundant life. Another way to describe this is His overflowing love pouring into your heart. You can have victory over the enemy’s attacks because of the Life of Christ in you. No weapon fashioned against you can prosper because Jesus stands with you in the midst of the battle. Don’t settle for an inferior version of life. Push forward and watch as He fights the battles for you.
