Look to the Rock I Daily Walk Devotion

When you are hiking it is easy to get lost. One of the way you find your bearing is to look for large landmarks which will help you determine where north is. Look to the rock and it will help you find your way. The same can be said of Jesus. He is our rock and when we look to him we will find our way.

Isaiah 51:1, 3

“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.” For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

I Will Build My Church

Look to the rock. Jesus told Peter “Upon this rock I will build my church.” That Rock is Jesus Christ. It is unmovable, unshakeable, and we are told to look to it. We were hewn out of it, which means that our life was sculpted from that unshakeable rock. Psalm 91 tells us to run to that fortress “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Look to the Rock

This rock has the ability to turn barren waste places into flourishing garden like Eden. Maybe your life is like a barren wasteland, or maybe you are just feeling a little dry and dusty. Look to the Rock. Out of that rock will flow joy and gladness. Let him be that unshakeable rock in your life.
