Were you afraid of the dark growing up as a child? Maybe you still are? I had some mean uncles when I was a kid who loved to scare me in the dark. They would jump out from behind a tree as I was walking or be hidden in a closet when I went to get my jacket. The worst was when we went on a family camping trip, and they were outside my tent acting like a bear when I was trying to go to sleep. Needless to say, I had a hard time being alone in the dark until I was a teenager. Darkness can be a scary thing, especially if it is spiritual darkness.
Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Free from Darkness
There are a lot of people who walk around in spiritual darkness. Whether it be the effects of sin or a cloud of discouragement it can bring people to the point of despair. Don’t lose hope. Jesus can rescue us from the darkness. He has dominion over darkness, and He can set us free from its grip. No more fear. No more discouragement. Do you want to be rescued from the darkness in your life? Turn to Jesus
Come to the Light
When Jesus rescues us, he also brings us into His kingdom. We are brought into the light and adopted as his sons and daughters. The Holy Spirit comes into our lives and becomes a guiding force. He reveals God’s Word to us and convicts us of our sins. It is a beautiful new life filled with purpose. You can have that today.
Don’t Suffer in Silence
If you are suffering from a darkness that is in your life, don’t go another day being controlled by it. Many people suffer in silence because they are embarrassed. You can be set free from the chains of doubt, discouragement, and depression. You can walk in freedom because Jesus has rescued you from the darkness. Don’t live in fear anymore. Cry out to Jesus and let him rescue you.
