There is Power in the Word I Daily Walk Devotion

Many men’s words have moved nations over the centuries. They have stirred generations with their charisma and eloquence. Most have used it for the good of the people, and some have used it for the destruction. When Jesus spoke, it shook a nation. There is power in the Word of God. To those who reject His Word, it seems like foolishness but to those who believe it is powerful.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved.”

Why Don’t They Get It?

Have you ever wondered why those who are against Jesus just don’t get it? To you, the Word of God makes so much sense and ministers to your soul, but to your friends who aren’t following Jesus, it is so foreign? That is because it is foolishness to those who are perishing. It contradicts the lifestyle of those who have rejected the Gospel. Scripture is like sandpaper to their philosophy and decisions. To those who are saved, it is the power of God.

Too Lost to Find Themselves

Without Christ, people are lost and in the dark. They can’t find their way to God if they wanted to. It takes the Holy Spirit stirring their heart to draw them. This is good news for those of us who want to see unsaved loved ones to come to know Jesus. We can pray that Jesus will send His Spirit to move on their hearts. It may make their life miserable at first, but soon their heart will soften. Be fervent in your petitions to the Lord.

There is Power in the Word

The Word of God is powerful and living to those who believe. Each time we open our Bibles, we see the evidence of His power at work. We can trust that He will work for the good of all those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Want to see God work powerfully? Begin by praying and watch what comes about.
