Through a Narrow Door

This last summer, my wife and I built a dog run on the side of our house. It mainly consisted of putting a fence and gate up to keep our Labrador Retriever, Molly, in one area. Neither one of us had put up a fence before, so it was a learning experience. It turned out nice, and most importantly, it keeps our dog contained. Jesus said that to enter into heaven is like going through a narrow door. Not everyone will find it or go through it.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:24‬

Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.”

Jesus is the Only Way

When someone asked Jesus who will be saved, this is how He answered. Not everyone is going to heaven. This may come as a shock to you but look at Jesus’ words. He says, “Strive to enter through the narrow door.” That means that not everyone is going to enter through it. Jesus is the only way, and you have to believe in your heart and profess with your mouth the He is Lord. If you think being a good person will do it, you’re gonna miss out.

More than Being Good Person

When people tell you all roads lead to heaven or that God in His love will let everyone enter, it is called Universalism. It’s the thought that all of us will get into heaven no matter how we lived here on earth. Jesus debunks this by saying that many will think they are going but will miss the entrance. Jesus also said, “narrow is the path to salvation, but broad is the road to destruction.”

Through a Narrow Door

Many people in your life are seeking Jesus. They don’t realize it is Him but think it is something like love, peace, or joy. You are in their life to show them that they can have all three of those if they will commit their life to Him. Be the one who shows them the way. Put in the effort and walk with them on the path to salvation. It will do a powerful work in your heart as well.
