God likes to work through those you would least expect. If it were up to us, we would choose people we were comfortable with, but God isn’t interested in our comfort. He wants to provide answers where you least expect. If you look through the Bible, you will see example after example of this.
Ezra 1:2
Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.”
God is In Control
King Cyrus of the Assyrians was one of the most brutal kings of all time. He took out the Babylonians with relative ease. Cyrus ruled differently. He let the Jews return and rebuilt Jerusalem, thus fulfilling prophecy. That is what makes this verse so impactful. God took one of the most ruthless kings in history and used him for His purposes. That shows us that no one is out of God’s control, and He will use whoever and whatever to accomplish it.
Conquer Those Challenges
If we were honest with ourselves, we would admit that we let fear get the best of us. We size up a situation as realize it is out of our control and then proceed to worry about how it will be resolved. When we compare our problems to our resources and strengths, we will always fall short. It’s only when we tap into God’s sovereign powers do we have an avenue to conquer those challenges.
Answers Where We Least Expect
If God can use an ungodly king to release the captives and rebuild Jerusalem on the king’s dime, then He can do anything. Turn your doubt into faith by taking your dilemma to God. Stand firm in your faith and you watch provide the solution. Don’t listen to the chatter of the faithless and keep your eyes focused on Jesus. You will see a breakthrough like you never imagined.
