What makes some people accomplish great things for God, while most people fall short of what is possible? Some might say it is a lack of faith, while others argue that some are more talented. The Apostle Paul presents another option. Are you thinking too small for a God who can do more than you can dream? God is capable of doing more through you than you can imagine.
EPHESIANS 3:20
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,”
Able To Do Far More
Look at how Paul combines the words “able to do far more abundantly beyond.” He is trying to convey God’s ability in a way that we can understand. We can’t possibly ask or even think more than what God can do. Ponder that for just a second. God’s power is infinite, and He has placed that inside of you. While you can use it like a magic wand, you can ask the Holy Spirit to activate it for the purposes of the Kingdom.
Are You Even Asking?
This passage also shows us how little we ask. We go about doing our thing, and when we come across an obstacle in the road, we fill our hearts with worry instead of going to God who can do anything. We look at our minor problems and act like the world is falling apart. The solution is simple and easy to God, but when we don’t go to Him, we make it into a mountain. Paul tells us that God is able to do far more than we think He can. All we got to do is ask.
Are You Thinking Too Small
If your picture of how God can use you can be accomplished with hard work, you are thinking too small. The Holy Spirit is active in your life, and He is able to accomplish the miraculous. The only thing that is limiting that is you. It could be that your faith is too small, you have a fear of failure, or you have sin that sets you back. Go to Jesus and ask to make things right and grow your faith, whatever it may be.
