Jesus is Coming Back I Daily Walk Devotion

One day Jesus is coming back. He will return on the clouds for his church. It will start with the sound of a trumpet and will conclude with those in Christ rising up to meet him in the air. What a glorious day that will be! Life as we know it will change. We will be with Jesus for eternity.

Revelation 1:7, 17

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”

Caught Up In the Air

There will be a day when Christ comes back on the clouds. He will return for his people. We call this the rapture. The dead in Christ will rise, and those on earth will be caught up in the air with him. It will be a glorious day! It is something we should be looking and praying for. There should be something in our heart that is longing to be united with Christ. To live with him in eternity is our goal as a Christian.

Fall At His Feet

Look at John’s response to seeing a vision of Jesus. Rev 1:13-15 gives us a picture of the resurrected Jesus “and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, 15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace.” When John sees this the only response he has is to fall at his feet as if he were dead. This will be our response as well. When we see Jesus, it will be so magnificent that we will wish we were dead because of our feelings of unworthiness. That is what it feels like to be in the presence of holiness.

Look for His Coming

Fortunately, Jesus response to John is an encouragement to us. He tells John not to be afraid. Jesus is always encouraging us. He is the First and the Last. This means that he was there in the beginning and he will be there until the end. He desires to be with us and will one day come back and get us. Look for the coming of the Lord. Jesus is coming back.
