Toppling Your Giant I Daily Walk Devotion

All of us encounter obstacles in our life that seem insurmountable. The odds of overcoming them can be overwhelming because you know you don’t have the resources or strength to topple it. As a Christian, you have to realize that you don’t fight your giants with your ability. Toppling your giant comes from the power of God inside of you.

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:45

“David said to the Philistine: “You come against me with a sword, spear, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of Armies, the God of the ranks of Israel — you have defied him.”

No Chance at All

We all know the famous Bible story of David defeating Goliath. A young boy without armor or modern weapons faces down a human being who was over nine feet tall. On paper, there was no way that David had a chance, but he knew something that no one else on that battlefield knew that day, he had the power of the Almighty God on his side. He didn’t have to rely on his skill or strength because something much stronger was in his corner. We all know the result.

Know Your Enemy

The world can come against us with all that it has. They can wield their sword and flash their shield, but as a believer, we can stand our ground because we know our God is greater. Satan is a liar and deceiver, and he will do everything he can to intimidate us into fear. Sadly, many Christians fall for it and retreat. We need more David’s today.

Godly Confidence

Toppling your giant starts with putting your trust in God. He can use you to defeat the enemy. David didn’t fight because of his confidence. He fought with the determination that God was in his corner. We can fight the same way. When faced with insurmountable odds we can lean upon the Lord of the Armies. Stand firm and watch God topple your giant.
