True Worship I Daily Walk Devotion

Do you want to know the secret to pleasing God? True Worship. The Apostle Paul tells us that true worship is holy and pleasing to the Lord. We were created to worship God. He is worthy of all of our praise. What is the best way to worship? By becoming a living sacrifice and serving him. You don’t need a beautiful voice or the ability to play an instrument. You just need a willing heart that is willing to serve.

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.

Give God His Due

To worship means to give worth to someone or something. When we worship at church, we are singing and praying praises to the one who is most worthy. Worship goes beyond just singing in church. Our work can be worship as we do it unto the glory of the Lord. Serving in the church is also an act of worship because we are becoming living sacrifices.

An Act of Sacrifice

A living sacrifice is someone one who puts aside their agenda and humbles themselves to serve God. This usually entails helping other people. Paul tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Serving others is an act of sacrifice because it requires us to put the other person first.

True Worship

This is the model for the Christian life. We lay our lives down, sacrifice our own interests, and become a usable offering. That is pleasing to the Lord. Christianity cannot be an “add-on” to our busy lives; it must be our way of life. Why do we do lay down our lives? It is an act of true worship. Take the step today and begin to serve. If you are already serving, I hope this encourages you.
