Uphold Justice I Daily Walk Devotion

The church is in need of more people who will uphold justice and speak the truth. There will be people who hate it and come against you, but there are those who need it. So many people are marginalized and oppressed. They need a voice who will speak out for them. Stand up for those who are being discriminated. Speak the truth to those who are oppressing them.

Amos 5:10, 14-15

“There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court and detests the one who tells the truth.” Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.

Uphold Justice

Justice is doing the right thing and making sure that others are having the right thing done to them. The prophet Amos tells us the seek good and maintain justice. The church is the place where justice should be most evident. As we journey through our daily walk, the Spirit empowers us to love good and hate evil. He also convicts us to stand up for those who don’t have a voice. Pray that God will move in your heart to uphold justice.

Speak Truth

Truth is a rare thing today. Everyone wants to tell their version of the truth. He who yells loudest and most often is the one people hear. If someone speaks the truth and takes a stand for it, he is attacked as intolerant and mean. As Christians, we have been given the truth in Gods word and the world hates it. It exposes their sin and sets a standard they don’t want to live by. Stand in the truth and seek good. Know that as you do this, the Lord Almighty is with you.
